What advice would you have for young women who are interested in a STEM career or job?
Do what you enjoy, be true to yourself and work hard.
How did you get to where you are today?
A lot of luck, a bit of drive and determination and probably most importantly loving what I do.
What do you do on a daily basis in your work?
When I’m not travelling providing advice to ships about how to collect quality data for charts then I’m supporting the Navy to understand how we can support Warships and their exploitation of the environment.
Who or what inspired you to get into STEM?
Explorers and travellers like Capt Cook and Shackleton. First Women like Nancy Astor.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Exploring parts of the worlds oceans last surveyed by Capt Cook or never before seen.
What do you like to do outside work?
Spending time with my family and friends, teaching my son to swim and riding my motorcycle.
