What advice would you have for young women who are interested in a STEM career or job?
The range of jobs in STEM is huge and by studying a STEM subject you are gaining invaluable skills that can be transferred to a variety of sectors. If you pursue a career in STEM you’re sure to find a fulfilling career that won’t be boring!
How did you get to where you are today?
I studied mechanical engineering followed by a masters in oil and gas engineering.
What do you do on a daily basis in your work?
I resolve day to day issues as well as strategise for the next 5-10 years anticipating the big problems that will affect the business and putting in solutions to mitigate these issues.
Who or what inspired you to get into STEM?
I wanted to sol e problems and during my schools years physic maths and chemistry were like big puzzles to me. I wanted to carry on applying theoy to solve everyday problems.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Variety. No two days are the same and I’m rarely bored. E
What do you like to do outside work?
I love being outdoors, whether on a boat, surfboard or struggling through a climb on the moors.
